I’m here sitting, my little guy kinda napping in his swing,
and I am watching the snow fall outside. I have been able to get a few moments
of scrapping in the New Year! Some for our yearly challenge of # of picture =
month, some for the “let's all get the same Xmas kit and see what we create”
and then a few projects for a b-day pressie.
Let’s focus on the one thing that is done.
The birthday pressie.
It was my MILs b-day that we celebrated last night- hence why
I did not blog about the things I created as soon as I was done, like I like to
do. Hehe.
I felt it was a litle bare on the left hand side but DH didn't let me change it. |
I made her a 11X14 picture frame of our family. I let my
husband pick the pictures, and he chose those two, and in colour.
From there I went through my stash- ( remember- I must not
purchase anything new this year but use up the perfectly good paper I already
have in piles of..... must resist... CHA... GAH!!!!!!)
I used 2 pieces of the perfect fit Creative Memories Vintage
Power Pallet. Then I used a Prima
flower stamp and pretty much went at it on the background with blue and brown
ink. I decided to cut the brown paper in
the already drawn out scroll and use it as a border.
Once that done pretty much followed that line with Prima
Flowers (some of them of a very unfortunate colour) that I glimmer misted to
colours that actually matched the LO.
oooh! flowers! |
In the right corner I used my Liquitex modeling paste and used
a Glimmer Mist mask to create the texture. I then used Heidi Swapp’s color shine in gold
lamé (not lame) that I sprayed on top, and then added splatters of colours by
taking off the top and using the tube to flick the drops.
purdy! |
Then one must have a card when offering a gift. I had some
paper from a super slab I had picked up many years back and decided to use it. I had other plans but realised that my project
included too much fussy cutting when I had the little guy beside me. (He doesn’t
seem to be a fan of scrapbooking)
Stamp: Close to My Heart |
After letting dry I decided that the wings on top were too
curled up, so I added a little bit of glue to keep them down. (Managed to lose the picture...)
I have many more projects to show you, but this is enough for
now. I also have started to work on an art journal. Great way to channel
stress, anger and grief when one is cooped up thanks to the Canadian winter...
Hope you are all enjoying the Creative Jump Start and a HUGE thank you to Natalie Kalbach for all the effort put in! We are all very thankfull and realise how hard you have worked in this!
Happy crafting!
